Project Update: Team Slovakia – “Who Were the Victims of the National Socialists?”

As part of the project “Who Were the Victims of the National Socialists?”, our team from Slovakia organised and facilitated a workshop for teachers and trainee teachers from the Košice Region at the Trebišov Gymnasium together with Gabriela Maruščáková.

In the first part of the event, our team presented the project, its structure and outputs. In the second part, they conducted a hands-on activity about the educational toolkit on place-based learning and the history of National Socialism, as well as the possibilities for using it in the classroom, where participants jointly designed a project for two primary schools and two high schools. The event contributed to networking between school history teachers in the region. All participants aim to conduct a common project in the upcoming school year 2023-2024 about the everyday life and situations of schoolchildren in the interwar period and during World War Two.
