EuroClio is excited to announce a new collaboration with the Korean War Legacy Foundation. In 2025, we will develop a curriculum book for International Baccalaureate teachers on the history of Korea and the Korean War at a transnational level.

This project aims to develop transnational, adaptable educational materials focused on enquiry learning, oral histories, and source analysis based on the Foundation’s archive and previous work when possible. Thus, the project aims to produce teaching and learning materials that teachers worldwide can use to explore the history of Korea and its interactions with other countries.

EuroClio is looking for authors who will help develop these materials, which will be drafted for review by October 2025. The group of authors will be coordinated by teachers with extensive experience in coordinating this type of effort and in developing materials on the history of Korea and for the International Baccalaureate.

What do we offer?

In addition, as an author, you will attend several in-person meetings to collaboratively author and review drafts and ultimately establish a global network of IB teachers to work, test and review the materials. These events are:

  • 13-16 March 2025 – Kick-off Meeting in The Hague, Netherlands
  • 30 June – 11 July 2025 – Study Trip to the Republic of Korea
  • 31 October – 1 November 2025 – Author Meeting in The Hague, Netherlands

Depending on availability, there might be a chance to join the Foundation’s World Congress in 2025.

We offer a fixed fee of 4,800 EUR for authors. The fee is calculated according to the estimated time and effort.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for authors who:

  • Are teachers at an institution that follows the International Baccalaureate’s programme and curriculum.
  • Have excellent writing skills in English.
  • Have proven experience in developing educational materials with a multiperspective lens and using enquiry-learning.
  • Are committed to joining the regular online meetings with the Authors and Project Coordinators (estimated to be about once per month).
  • Are available to join all in-person meetings.
  • Are available to collaborate with other authors to give and receive feedback on ideas and written drafts of work, both virtually and in person.
