The Observatory on History Teaching in Europe of the Council of Europe is conducting a thematic study on how economic crises are taught in history classes across member states. This report, aimed at improving history education, will explore:
- Strategies for explaining the causes and consequences of economic crises
- Connections to political, social, and cultural contexts
- Teaching societal resilience to national and transnational challenges
History teachers from Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Cyprus, France, Georgia, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, North Macedonia, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Türkiye, and Ukraine are invited to participate in a 10-minute survey. This input will help policymakers and educators understand the challenges and needs in teaching this important subject.
The survey is available in the respective languages of the member states and can be completed by 3 June 2024. Complete the survey here.
