Save the date for EuroClio’s 2026 Annual Conference – 26th-29th April 2026 in Brussels, Belgium!
The theme for our 2026 Annual Conference is “History and Hope – Learning for Change”. Set in Brussels, this event will explore how constructive narratives can inspire empathetic democracy and active citizenship among students. The conference aims to empower educators with practical tools and inspiring methodologies that integrate hope and critical engagement into the classroom.
EuroClio’s 2026 Annual Conference is co-organised and hosted by the House of European History, a museum dedicated to exploring Europe’s shared and diverse past. We are excited to announce that we are now accepting workshop proposals!
Proposal Deadline: November 30, 2025 (midnight CET)
Sub-Themes:
– Multi-Perspectivity and Transnationalism
– Anti-Racism/Anti-Colonial Practice
– Democracy and European Values
Selected hosts receive accommodation coverage for one night and a fixed discount on conference fees.
This time, we will offer a significant amount of workshop spots. Hosts are also encouraged to offer their sessions to be hosted twice during the conference. This possibility will be available depending on the number of accepted applications.
All workshop hosts who are selected will have one night’s stay in Brussels covered, as well as receive a discount code at a fixed, reduced price to attend the (whole) conference (including lunches). These discounted prices are currently projected to be 320€ and 300€, respectively.
Workshops are currently planned across four slots (subject to change):
– April 27th: 14:00 – 15:30
– April 28th: 12:00 – 13:30
– April 29th: 11:30 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 15:30
For those willing to host twice, we aim to schedule both sessions on the same day, depending on logistical circumstances. We will not finalise these details without consulting you.
As usual, we invite proposals that employ non-formal, interactive, innovative, and inclusive educational methods, particularly those involving storytelling, playful approaches, or educational technology. We discourage traditional, frontal, lecture-style presentations. Each workshop should be expected to last 90 minutes (mind that you might want to account for up to 10 minutes of flexibility, capping the content at 80 minutes). In each slot, you should expect around 20 participants. Participant registrations for each accepted workshop will happen digitally prior to the event, so you will have a clearer number in advance.
