The Historical Institute of the University of Wrocław, Depot History Centre, the International Federation for Public History, the Commission for Public History of the Committee of Historical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and EuroClio invite students, PhD candidates and practitioners to participate in the 8th Public History Summer School to be held in hybrid format (on-site and on-line), 9-13 June 2025.

If you are interested in how history functions in the public sphere, the summer school will give you an opportunity to broaden your interests and enrich your experience. The opening keynote lecture, Philately in Troubled Times: Remembering the Past through Stamps and Stamp Collecting, will be given by David Dean (Carleton University). The organisers are also planning a wide variety of accompanying events: roundtable on studying public history, workshops on oral history and monuments, as well as meeting with Chris Niedenthal. In addition, participants will visit the city (walking tour) and the main exhibition on history of Wrocław after 1945 at the Depot History Centre.

The deadline for registration is 6 June 2025.
