Ahead of Europe Day on 9 May, join us for an engaging webinar: HistoriCall – A New Way to Teach European History
The House of European History (HEH) invites teachers to discover HistoriCall, a newly developed Digital Toolbox designed to support educators in teaching European history. Available in 24 languages, the toolbox responds to the needs expressed by over 1,000 teachers across Europe.
Based on these insights, the HEH Learning Team created two interactive modules for students aged 14 to 18:
– The Timeline of the European Union
– EU Pioneers: Meet the Founders of the Union
During the webinar, participants will gain insight into the development process of HistoriCall before exploring the EU Pioneers module. This engaging resource introduces students to key historical figures—such as Robert Schuman, Simone Veil, and seven other pioneers—through reimagined social media accounts. With engaging texts and dynamic audio-visual content, the module offers an innovative, student-centred approach that encourages critical thinking and reflection through Visible Thinking routines.
The webinar will also present the Timeline of European Integration module, featuring an animated video and accompanying quiz. Teachers will receive practical guidance on how to integrate these tools into a variety of educational contexts.

About the speakers:
Florian Tuder (florian.tuder@ext.europarl.europa.eu)
Florian works as Formal Learning Officer at the House of European History in Brussels where he develops digital materials for high school teachers across Europe to support them teach European history in general and the history of European integration specifically. In the past 15+ years, he worked in the field of education and training in Austria and Belgium for schools, non-profit organisations, and the private sector. Florian has an academic background in Education, Theology, and European Studies from the Universities of Graz (Austria), Sibiu (Romania), and Leuven (Belgium) complemented with certifications in e-learning and instructional design (Harvard Graduate School of Education and University of Washington).
Laurence Bragard (laurence.bragard@ep.europa.eu)
Passionate about education and the transmission of European history, Laurence Bragard is the Project Manager for Formal Learning—both online and onsite—at the House of European History’s Learning and Outreach team. She leads the cross-departmental team behind HistoriCall, a set of innovative digital learning resources that bring European history to life in engaging and accessible ways. Multi-perspectivity and evaluation are at the heart of this educational offer. Over the years, Laurence has specialised in teacher training and webinars, working closely with educational stakeholders across Europe. She holds an academic background in Art History and Cultural Studies from the Universities of Brussels and Leuven (Belgium), and recently completed a Professional Diploma in Digital Learning Design from the Digital Learning Institute (Glasgow Caledonian University).
