From May 31–June 1 2016, Comparative Education Society in Europe (CESE) will organize the conference ‘Equity in and through education: Changing contexts, consequences, and contestations in Glasgow. The conference will be hosted by the Robert Owen Centre for Educational Change at the historic University of Glasgow.
Several broad questions will set the agenda of the conference: To what extent are education systems fair and inclusive in terms of access, processes and outcomes? How does education help to create a society that is more – or less – equitable? What can we learn by studying these questions internationally and in comparative perspective?
The CESE Executive Committee, in association with the Glasgow Organising Committee, invites papers that explore the conference theme from a range of local, national and supranational contexts. Submissions which engage both theoretically and empirically with the issue of equity in and through education are encouraged.
