Call for Textbook Authors
Italy and the Korean War — History, Memory, and Enquiry-Based
Learning
A joint initiative by the Korean War Legacy Foundation and Clio ’92
The Korean War Legacy Foundation (KWLF), dedicated to preserving oral histories
and promoting innovative history education, and Clio ’92, Association of History
Teachers and Researchers in History Education, invite applications from qualified
history and humanities teachers to participate as authors in a collaborative
international project.
The initiative aims to produce enquiry-based teaching units on Italy’s participation
in the Korean War (1950–1953). Each unit will guide students in asking historical
questions, analysing evidence, and constructing interpretations, using authentic
primary sources.
Selected authors will be responsible for delivering a completed text in Italian and in
English, corresponding to one enquiry-based learning unit ready for classroom use.
Compensation
● €3,000 per author for the completed text.
● Travel and accommodation expenses related to the in-person meetings will
be reimbursed separately and are not included in the compensation.
Meetings
Participation in the following meetings is expected:
● Online meeting: mid-February 2026
● In-person meeting: late April/early May 2026, place TBC, Italy
