EuroClio encourages museums to not only digitise their collections, but also to provide open access to their collections. Sometimes it is difficult for educators to find the right sources. Curated collections of sources, based on themes, together with examples of how the materials can be used in practice, can be very helpful. Would you like to know more? EuroClio Network Coordinator Jaco Stoop was invited by the Swedish Museums of World Cultures to share EuroClio’s ideas about the use of digital tools in education. Many museums, libraries, and archives are working to digitise their collections, and making them available to educators. However, there are still many obstacles that need to be removed. EuroClio is working together with Europeana and Webtic to develop Historiana and promote the use of digital and digitised heritage in education. At the one-day conference in Stockholm, Jaco Stoop presented the lessons learned, and the important steps to remove barriers, and support educators throughout Europe.
