The international summer school “Mapping Memories” took place in Tbilisi, Georgia between July 13-17 and was a follow-up to the conference in Vienna of 2015. The summer school in Tbilisi focused on different historical narratives and discussed ways of dealing with these. Particular attention was given to topics of flight, displacement and forced migration which are important and productive issues for transnational commemorative work.
The participant list consisted of practitioners both of professional and voluntary character from different European countries. Programme director of the EuroClio secretariat, Steven Stegers served as EuroClio’s representative at the conference.
At the upcoming conference in Kiev, Ukraine, between September 29th and October 1st ties the Vienna conference in 2015, the international summer school in Tbilisi 2016 and the Kiev conference together and concludes the project.
