As part of the Europe 2020 Strategy for sustainable growth in the EU, the multilingual classification of European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations (ESCO) was set up. The ambition is to develop within ESCO a portal for all occupations competencies profiles in 24 languages in order to enhance the common language and relation between the labour market and education, with education more focused on competencies needed, and employers more explicit in what competencies they are looking for when they have vacancies. This would also enhance labour mobility as people from abroad would find themselves qualified to enter the job market in another country.

However, that requires input from people in the field.

EuroClio and ESCO are calling upon you to register for a closed online English language survey about the preliminary results of the ESCO portal. If you or your organisation would like to contribute to the online consultation you can register one or more experts by 13 October 2015, on here.

Any question now or during the consultation process can be directed to Nuria Moyes education@esco-secretariat.eu
