Between 7-10 March 2014, Dean Smart (United Kingdom), Olha Pedan-Slyepukhina (Ukraine), Tsira Chikvaidze (Georgia) hereby as referred as the mentors to the authors in Armenia, and Project Manager Steven Stegers undertook a visit to Yerevan to support the authors in Armenia to improve their educational modules before the April Editing Meeting of Sharing History, Cultural Dialogues (SHCD) project in Ohrid (Republic of Macedonia).
During the visit, the mentors were actively engaged in working individually with the authors and sharing their oral and written remarks on each module. In the course of this visit, the EuroClio took the initiative to organize a workshop on Active Learning in History and Cultural Education in partnership with AAHE-Armenian Association of History Educators, CIVITAS Armenia and DVV Armenia on 9 March 2014. The workshop was participated by 30 History, Heritage and Cultural educators in Armenia. As a part of this workshop, Dean Smart, Senior Lecturer History and Citizenship Education, University of the West of England gave a workshop on active learning methods, and Ashot Yeghiazaryan, Civitas Armenia, Teacher and Head of Methodological Unit in Physics Mathematical Special School presented the results of the project of CIVITAS Armenia on political culture. At the end of the workshop, the educators also received more detailed information on the standards and requirements of the educational material of SHCD project and were welcomed to contribute with more new module ideas if interested.
The visit in overall positively influenced on broadening the network of educators in Armenia, and strengthening the partnership with new institutions working in the field of education and culture in Armenia.
