The second Civic Education Conference (CEC) 2016, organized by the Goethe-Institut in partnership with the Danish Egyptian Dialogue Institute (DEDI), the German Federal Agency for Civic Education, Union des Tunisiens Indépendants pour la Liberté (UTIL) and the Tahrir Lounge.
The aim of the conference is to follow up on the advancements since the Civic Education Conference held in Alexandria in 2013. Aditionally is geared towards the advancement and development of the field of civic education and the civil society in the region. Moreover, specific recommendations are expected to come out of the panel discussion.
Working around 4 core thematic areas: 1) Arts and Culture, 2) Equality and Diversity, 3) Rule of Law, 4) Education for Engagement; the conference will be exploring through plenaries and working sessions on outreach, terminology, policies and stakeholders’engagement.
