APHG counts around 3000 members and is the oldest association for History teachers in France. The association publishes a magazine, untitled Historians and Geographers, every 3 months. APHG is committed to foster a European citizenship and European projects, especially through Franco-German meetings since the interwar period and studies on school textbooks; APHG is also organizing EUSTORY, a competition based on a binational approach between France and Germany. In 2021, our association has created the Prix Samuel Paty (Samuel Paty prize), in memory of a professor of History and Geography murdered by a fanatic, in order to promote civic education and democratic values such as freedom of speech, and raise awareness againts misinformation, fake news, and radicalisation.
