UNESCO
UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, works to create the conditions for the building of peace, the eradication of poverty, sustainable development and intercultural dialogue through education, the sciences, culture, communication and information. In 2010 UNESCO established official operational relations with EUROCLIO, which will therefore be regularly consulted and involved by UNESCO in relevant initiatives notably in the field of education for peace.

In February 2011 EUROCLIO became officially an “NGO in operational relations with UNESCO”, as a positive result of a request that had been submitted to the UN Organisation for Education, Science and Culture at the end of 2010. This prestigious status is a recognition of EUROCLIO’s active presence and concrete action in the field of education, the expertise the Association represents, as well as its ability to channel the concerns of the people. EUROCLIO is therefore considered a valued partner by the UNESCO and will be regularly consulted and invited to contribute to UNESCO’s initiatives in fields such as inclusive education, intercultural dialogue, and heritage education. EUROCLIO will work towards developing this official relationship into a successful cooperation.
