19th EUROCLIO Annual Conference reaching the History, Heritage and Citizenship Educators of the world, from West to East, from North to South!

We are happy to share exciting news about EUROCLIO Annual Conference that will take place in the cultural heart of Turkey, Antalya in the beautiful springtime of April (1-7, 2012)

HERE WE ARE with more than 50 countries ranging from Europe to Middle East. The Annual Conference will grant its participant rich spirit of multiculturalism and cross-border dialogue focused on History, Heritage and Citizenship Education. A number of workshops by International and Turkish Experts, panel and open-forum discussions, presentations will be an integral part of the conference programme. The guest list of the conference is enriched by the diverse experiences and names such as Halit Eren (Secretary-General of IRCICA, Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture), Prof. Dr. Mustafa Safran (The head of Education Committee, UNESCO National Commission in Turkey, Faculty of Education of Gazi Univeristy, Ankara and the President of Turkish History Teachers Association), Representatives from the Ministry of Education of Turkey,  Dr. Ibrahim Kalin (Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister, Republic of Turkey),  Prof Erik-Jan Zurcher (Leiden University, the upcoming director of the International Institute of Social History (IISH) in Amsterdam ) , Alain Serrvantie (Advisor in DG Enlargement since 2004, European Commission) etc.The official part of the programme will be accompanied with cultural evening and on-site tours lead by professional archeologists such as Prof. Dr. Veli Köse from Hacettepe Universities, Prof. Cakir Afsin Aygun  and Prof. Dr. Nevzat Cevik from Akdeniz Universities.

 

HERE WE ARE with the support by Open-Society Institute for bringing around 15 educators from Middle East and North Africa countries to Antalya and stimulate Mediterranean and intercultural dialogue.
